We understand you may have a lot of questions surrounding the acquisition of the DroneDefender, as well as the launch of our consultancy, Dedrone Defense. We hope the following will answer some of those questions, but if you’d like to connect with a Dedrone team member, you can always reach us.

General Questions - Acquisition and Dedrone Defense

Why did Dedrone acquire Battelle’s DroneDefender? Dedrone has tested and worked with DroneDefender since August 2017. Since beginning our integrated testing program, Dedrone and DroneDefender have been successfully developed and integrated to support organizations to safely, efficiently and effectively defeat drones. In June 2018, Dedrone successfully demonstrated the capabilities of DroneTracker and DroneDefender at ThunderDrone, a U.S. Special Operations Command and SOFWERX rapid prototyping event, ranking first place out of 45 other counter-sUAS companies.

What is Dedrone’s role with Dedrone Defense? Dedrone Holdings (Dedrone Inc., and Dedrone GmbH) remains the parent company of Dedrone Defense and will continue to support our enterprise customers and partners who may not work directly with the U.S. federal government or associated agencies.

What does Dedrone Defense do? Dedrone Defense is our consultancy for the U.S. federal market. Dedrone Defense provides the essential tools for all federal agencies, including the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), to assess their airspace activity, understand the severity of sUAS threats, protect assets, and eliminate unauthorized sUAS-based threats.

Who is a part of the Dedrone Defense team? Dedrone Defense will be led by our VP of U.S. Federal Operations, Phil Pitsky, and is located in Sterling, VA. The Dedrone Defense team is comprised of counter-sUAS solution providers and consultants whose combined career experience includes uniformed service in the U.S. armed forces, private organizations including Boeing and Cisco, as well as federal agencies such as the White House, Department of Defense, and Department of State. Our advisors include Lt. Gen Keith Walker (U.S.  Army, Ret.) and Hon. Heidi Shyu

Each counter-sUAS system must be able to integrate the best in class technologies for each individual installation, which requires an open-system software architecture. Our open API allows for each customer to customize their solution to meet their unique needs and environment, and Dedrone Defense provides the best in class options for each individual site and problem set. ‍

Dedrone Defense is the sole provider and manufacturer of DroneDefender, a non-kinetic radio frequency UAS countermeasure, which safeguards airspace without risking collateral damage. DroneDefender quickly disrupts the adversary's control of the UAS, neutralizing it so that no remote action, including detonation, can occur, minimizing UAS damage and risk to public safety.

‍‍What does the addition of Dedrone Defense and DroneDefender mean for my partnership? As a current Dedrone partner, there have been no changes or further action needed on your part to maintain your status as a partner. For partners who service the U.S. government, we will now be providing additional resources to support your specific customer base through Dedrone Defense. For all other partners, the Dedrone team will remain your point of contact to support global sales, as well as enterprise sales.

I’m working on a project with a U.S government agency and I would like to involve Dedrone Defense solutions. If you are a Dedrone Partner, your Dedrone Sales Representative will be your point of contact, if you’re not a partner yet, please contact our team.

I want to become a Dedrone Defense Partner, what should I do? Please contact our team.

Internationally, if you work with a military or directly with a government, we may be able to accommodate your purchase of DroneDefender on a case-by-case basis. If you currently meet this criteria, or you plan to start working with an armed forces or government, we will be able to provide specific support for you to work with customer base through the Dedrone Defense team.

Where can I see or test DroneDefender? Currently, only partners and customers who meet specific criteria may be able to test out DroneDefender. These include:

  • U.S: Partners who work with U.S. armed forces, or other U.S. federal agencies
  • Internationally/outside of U.S.:  Partners who work with non-U.S. armed forces or directly with a government
